Wee. I am back.

26 02 2007

At last. I am back from my very long hiatus. Well, our classes were called off today (darn; we could have used this time reviewing in the school but still they insisted on the calling off of classes). At least, we can have our reviews outside. That’s our bottom line today.

This was my February after my last post…

February:

16 Feb- Fidu got a little complicated than before.

21 Feb- Contest for the Science Questor (is the title correct? I have no idea about this, all I can say is—when I win in that competition, I’ll ask Congressman Vic Sumulong to give me an additional 5k. haha. Toink.

20-22 Feb- LONG TEST.

24 Feb– Family day of HS. Well. GOOD NUMBER OF ATTENDEES in HS meant BAD HISTORY for the Seniors. Oh, well.

24 Feb—cotillion practice

  • Aby wasn’t feeling good that day. Err—well, I visited her instead. Haha ü (is it bad to visit a friend?)

25 Feb. – Ateneo’s Open House. Tito Al and Aby were there, but wasn’t able to talk that much. We had demo classes in between that 20 minute talk, so I have to go back. She stayed for her program briefing. I was able to clear up some things, and I have finally made my decision about it. Haha.

  • Sharing. Haha. I was accepted in Management of Applied Chemistry. What is it all about? Well, it’s a BS Management course—so its business—plus 33 units of Chemistry lang naman. Haha. Well, according to Dr Ibarra, we are not eligible for the Junior Term Abroad, because no foreign institution would like to teach Chemistry in a very short span of time. WE are only eligible for China Tour (or European Tour—I really look forward to this European tour).
  • We are not eligible as well for the SOMBA. Although papers are already in the review stage, this still means that we cannot have an accelerated business course. WHY? Chemistry is the answer.
  • We have no summer breaks. Why? Chemistry again is the answer.
  • I cannot have a GF (according to Dr Ibarra) because my class has a very short time span. Well, who says I can’t? (haha. As if I had one already. Yes, ladies and gents, Ian did not have a GF yet in his whole life.) What I mean is, college is more of studying—or life, that is. College is learning with someone–whether that would be a constructive one, or destructive. Learning could be destructive as well.
  • I had a query before about my Chemistry program. Well, I don’t want to shift courses—its either I finish the course I take up, or consider myself being transferred to Chemistry as early as possible (which means NOW). I had a solution about it. Instead of shifting to the course, I could:
    • Appeal to the OAA for me to be transferred to BS Chemistry (well, this option is not advisable for me. Why? My management course is quite interesting—you will be trained to become a leader with lots of things to accomplish. Anyhow, I am still thinking about it).
    • Finish my course, and then that’s it. This is my 2nd to the most practical option. DO BEST here. Probably, this is indeed my calling.
    • Take two birds with 5 and a half stones. Haha. I mean 5 ½ years. Take up BS MAC and then take up Chemistry for three more semesters, and poof. I have 2 undergraduate degrees. Haha.
  • I should apply for scholarship. That is a must.

26 Feb.– No Classes. Darn.

Shift F7

16 02 2007
-will be published in the Fiduciaries-
What could be more sophisticated than any application in an ordinary Windows environment than its bundled Microsoft Office Suites? The articles we read in Fiduciaries, the researches you make, even the multimedia presentations we create are all products of the intricate programming of Microsoft. All of these creations we’ve done are all but a miniscule in their real capacity. Microsoft Excel, for example, can solve a Sudoku; Microsoft PowerPoint can create a movie-like presentation, and Microsoft Access can actually compute for our grades—believe me, I have seen these works! What separate these applications from others is its unique feature—the command “Shift-F7”.
Anyhow, it’s just a mere thesaurus that will actually appear. For the older versions, it’s the popup version, while for the later releases of Office it comes with a translation tool (that is, English to French, Spanish and vice versa). But for us in the Fiduciaries, especially those who have been doing the dirty jobs, the thesaurus is truly the “bible” of every writer. If we are looking for more intricate or more politically acceptable term, we consult the thesaurus. When we are asked to find the definition of a word or its synonyms, I immediately consult the thesaurus rather than a dictionary.

Indeed, Thesaurus is a powerful tool. You can go as offensive as possible—pudgy, or as polite as a dignitary—horizontally-challenged; Badjula (in Sir Reavi’s thesaurus). This you have to try for yourself and say, thank God, Bill Gates included in his project the magic of lexicon!

Back To Me. Back from Hiatus

16 02 2007
It has been a tremendous week–*sigh. It was our last club meeting for this year and, admittedly it shall be the last in the whole Benildean life. Frankly? I cannot wait to have my diploma ready (and get into the Ateneo–hopefully). So, what made Ian took this soooo long hiatus?

Here's a brief list of events that I had for the past week.

  1. Thanks to our super supportive Benildean Council adviser, all our plans for the rest of the year has been ruined. nice.
  2. Its long tests' period
  3. Revelations. tsk. revelations.
  4. heavy days. UP's form is the most presentable for all of them. nice.
  5. Too many projects! hell.. i hate it

At least, i was with bie last saturday. :) wee… I really hope that the Seniors' Ball will be a— *ahem* an unforgettable night—ever.

Hiatus.
