Hello once again.
I was not able to update the blog due to three things: Election, Enlistment, and our E-pals (electronic pals).
It was my first time going through an election. The experience was something really note-taking, not because it was my first time or so, but because I can see clearly how horrible it is to vote in the Philippines.Mom drove me to Mayamot Elementary School, and reminded me to look for my polling precinct there. There was a multitude of people still campaigning for their bets, and a sea of litter covered the grounds of the school. A variety of campaign materials were there as well: there were materials as small as a standard wallet being distributed to the walking voters, and there are materials as big as a 2 ft by 3 ft colored tarpaulin.
I noticed as well this candidate named Justo who ran recently as Barangay Kagawad in this recently-closed poll. This guy who’s running a school ran last May 2007 for a congressional position (if I remember that correctly). I wonder where he’s getting all these money for the campaign. One would only get dizzy looking for their names in the voters’ list. I would like to be a “flying-voter”. I really want to fly so that I may be able to find my name in the voters’ list with haste. The election could be really of little significance as compared to the controversial 2007 midterm election, but take note that there were political killings present here—small number it may seem, killing is still killing, and this fact is a clear sign of how desperate some Filipinos could be with regard to power, revenge.
